Fort Foster, Kittery Maine

Just over an hour from downtown Wolfeboro, off Kittery Point, lies an abandoned World War II fort with sealed concrete bunkers, a pier, salt marsh, walking trails, tidal pools, several beaches, grassy lawns and a playground.  It's a very peaceful spot and easy to find a quiet corner by the ocean on a hot day.   Please don't tell too many people!  It cost $10 for a car full of people.
